84 Camaro Berlinetta Digital Odomoeter
Hey Guys and Gals,
Does anyone know if the digital odometer on an 1984 berlinetta is a six digit display (i.e. 100000 read) or a five digit display (i.e. after 99999 it would reset to 00000)?
I just purchased an 84 Berlinetta and since Pennsylvannia exempts cars from recording mileage on the title I was left, sort of, in the dark with the amount of mileage on it. As far as I know, the car was a garage car and a one owner car. The engine is surprisingly clean and the body doesn't have rust on it, with minimal rust spotting starting on the floorboards.
The odometer reads 31400 and I am inclined to believe that, except, I have convinced myself that the odometer went from 99999 to 00000 at 100k miles.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Just joined, hope I followed proper etiquette (sp?).

here is a pic from one that sold on ebay, it has 6 digits and is listed as an 84 -86, does not give a specific year so Im not 100% if this could have changed over the 3 years.
you should be able to look very closely at your gauge and see how many digits it has when it is on, you will see a faint unlit digit on the left.

Thanks Jez, I'll inspect/use a small flash light if i have to to try the display out. I agree with you, I doubt much changed over the three years. The pic looked good, glad mine is still in the dash!!
