Re: 87 TRANS AM

Based on the VIN, you have a 1983 Trans Am. The 10th digit is D for 1983 and the 5th digit is W for Trans Am. It's not a 1987.

However, it looks like you have a mistake in your VIN as it's not showing valid. Despite this, just based on the first part of the VIN, it's not a 1987 for sure unless you have the wrong VIN.

Re: 87 TRANS AM

You can post a picture of the build sheet if you'd like.

The VIN you provided is for a 1983 Trans Am. A 1987 Trans Am would start out with a 1G2FW. Your VIN starts out with 1G2AW. You have a D in the 10th digit, which is for 1983. A 1987 VIN would have an H as the 10th digit.

Based on the VIN you provided, it's a 1983 Trans Am and not close to a 1987 Trans Am.

If it's titled as a 1987, it's either an error or the VIN doesn't match.

Re: 87 TRANS AM

I was at a garage sale last spring down the street from my mom's house and there was a 3rd gen TA under a cover. The lady said was a California addition and it's rare. I do know the car is still under the cover and I have never see out out of the garage. I forget what it looked like as she did not remove the cover all the way. I want to say she said it's an 87 as well.
