87-89 iroc-z with sunroof
I happened to come across an iroc in a junkyard today with a sunroof. I asked the owner if he new anything about it and he told me he had gotten it after the original owner had wrecked it. He also told me that the sunroof was a factory add on. Does anyone know anything about this like production numbers, or if it is actually from the factory like that. I have never seen one like this and can't find any info.

I've seen 3 or 4 of them around where I live over the years. Most looked like an aftermarket job, but I have never been able to ask the owners about it.

If its aftermarket, no. If its really a dealer-installed item, and you can get the paperwork to prove it, maybe. But to be honest, I doubt it. Unless its got some other one-off items installed from either the factory or dealer. Like a special-order package of some kind.

I can't believe that a sun roof on one of these cars will ever be valued any more than a hard top or t-top car. I personally feel it will have less value than either, same goes for C&C T-tops.

A sunroof should hurt the value substantially -- essentially someone is cutting a big hole in the roof of the car, and sourcing replacement seals is usually not at all easy, which is a big problem since you can bet that most of them leak by now.
C&C t-tops are much more acceptable in my book. Your average idiot can't tell the difference between C&C and factory, whereas I would think that most people that know anything about F-Bodies would know that they never had a factory sunroof before the (cough) 5th generation cars. I would take a C&C car over a factory hardtop, but a sunroof would be a dealbreaker for me almost 100% of the time, regardless of the price (assuming that I had to actually drive the car).
