How can I tell?
I have a 1992 Camaro Z28 that I purchased when I was stationed in Hawaii and ended up shipping it back to the states. I recently started thinking about selling it as I have a 60+ mile daily commute and have put less than 3000 miles on it in the last 6 years or so. In preparation to selling it, I got an Autocheck report and found out that this car is listed as having been a police use vehicle. Having read a bit about B4C cars, I went through the vehicle, but am unable to find an RPO sticker, so I'd like to ask how can I tell *IF* this is an actual B4C car? Thanks in advance!

If the SPID is not located on the backside of the locking luggage compartment in the driver's back section (in the hatchback section), then go to Compnine.com, sign up for a free account and then supply your VIN. You should see all RPOs for that VIN.

Re: How can I tell?
Thanks for your reply. I went to compnine and put in my VIN and it tells me: Vehicle: CAMARO RS 2 DR, even though it then lists the Z28 option. I did not see 1LE or B4C in the codes from them, so this must not have been a special order even though it was police use vehicle. I always kind of wondered why it had no Z28 badges on the outside, guess they removed them.

Could have also been a drug seizure or similar car, frequently police departments will register and use the cars they've seized, particularly if it's something sporty.

Re: How can I tell?
The big question is does it have the big brakes in the front (12 inch rotors) or just the standard 10.5. That will tell you if it was a B4C.

Re: How can I tell?
the B4C cars did not have the big spoiler, the hood blisters or T-tops. That does not mean it could not have been a Police use vehicle, it just means that it was not ordered as a B4C...
