Z-28 making a comeback
drove my 89 iroc to chevy dealership to take a spin in the new Camaro and also the grand sport corvette....I park infront of the showroom and immediately approached by 2 salesmen,, 1 wants to sell me a car and the other wants "my car".. He thought I was trading it in and wanted to get it before anyone else... After answering all the questions like,,
what year is it ?
did you buy it brand new ?
How long have you had it ?
did you just wax it ?
what engine does it have ?
the usual conversations you have with these cars..
Now I'm nervous about leaving my car there with strangers walking around it so I had a salesman babysit while I was out test driving....The Camaro I drove was very impressive and I liked it but I didn't care for the windows being so small (used to the iroc).. The corvette was awesome,, I loved it !!!
before I was ready to leave I asked the guy if he ever thought the iroc would make a comeback and he said: All I can tell you is I went to a meeting a couple weeks ago and saw the drawings for the Z-28 that will be out in a couple years,, I said what will it look like ? Will it have the same back lights as the third gens and he said no there more like the new Camaro....I drilled him for more info but he said that's all I can tell you,, I'm not really suppose to be discussing it.. I said o.k. and thanks.. He then says don't ever, ever get rid of that iroc !!!!! So now I can't wait to see the new Z-28 and I am very excited that it is making a comeback !!

Its got the LS7 from the outgoing Z06, magneto-rheological shocks from the ZL1, and they've stripped 300lbs from the car.

Re: Z-28 making a comeback
Yes, I just read the snippet in the latest issue of Hot Rod that the 2014 Z/28 (with proper slash not seen since 1969) is coming back. Sounds like it is going to be more pricey than the ZL-1 but we will see. ZL-1 style front end, different tail lights, ZL-1 type hood.....
