New member here 83 Trans Am Daytona

Just made an account and thought I'd say hi

Picked up my first third gen yesterday. It's the 83 Trans Am Daytona Pace car. Was sitting awhile before I bought it. It's missing a few things like the white aero wheel covers and doesn't have the decals on the door.

The body is fairly good only some surface rust on the rear quarters

Surprisingly the dash is in very good shape. No cracks at all however, the leather/suede Recaro seats are in pretty rough shape.

I'll get some pictures soon

I don't know much mechanical but hopefully will learn a lot here

Can't wait to see it

You could also check out the earlythirdgen.com community, it may not be as active as thirdgen.org but it's full of information.

Re: New member here 83 Trans Am Daytona

congrats and welcome to the site, nice car these are getting harder to find and an 83 pace car definitely makes my future want list.
just wondering do you know if the engine is original to the car i thought that all of the 83 pace cars had either a crossfire engine with an automatic or the 4 barrel carb (lg4) engine with a 5spd.

Canada had the option of the 4-Speed Automatic 700R4 or the 3-Speed 200C with the LG4.

Canada had the option of Computer Controlled Carburetor or Non-Computer Controlled Carburetor.

Along with the the CFI with the 700R4 and LG4 with the T5.

I do not know it they had a CFI with the 3-Speed 200C as I have never seen one.

And the option of the K05 ENGINE BLOCK HEATER which the US did not.
