Vehicle build date on seat belt?

Car: 1987 Camaro LT
Engine: LG4 w/ SLP headers & a 3" catback
Transmission: THM700R4 (Stock)
Axle/Gears: Stock 2.73 gears. No Posi
Vehicle build date on seat belt?
On newer cars like my mom's 2008 Jetta and my 2001 Explorer Sport, the vehicle build date is on a tag on the front driver's seat belt.
My I checked the front driver's seat belt on my Camaro and it has a tag with a bunch of numbers that's not really specific on a date. Could this be decoded on the build date? Or this is only on later cars. Btw, the previous owner removed the build date tag from my car which sucks.

If the numbers on the seat belt assembly decoded into a date, I would think that the date would denote the build date of the belt assembly and not that of the car.

Yes, the build date on the seatbelts would predate the build of the car, could be the day b4 or a few months b4. It would depend on the supplier and stock.
