Great pics and great stable there, TTOP! I wish mine was that "toasty."
Bought mine Aug '89 - CA trip was 12/10 - 1/1. Stored on Jan 1 with 33,500!
Storing a car really helps, for us Northern guys.
Here's Santa Barbara 12/89

And 3 months ago in WI - both '89's

Not really,It's a continuation of IMissmy86's Low mile cutoff of 50K mile thread,200K miles is considered high mile, don't know when they became collectors(most likely when they are approaching the historical age of 25 yrs.) but their are quit a few members here who do collect them and some beauties I may add.So do you have one to post??

I bought my 1989 Firebird 305 with 48k and I've driven it over 4k since. Last summer it won 3 class trophies in car shows around Ft. Lee (Petersburg) Virginia, where I was stationed for 6 months in the Army. Trying to keep it as stock as possible, so all the upgrades or replacements have been "inside out": new tires, shocks, struts, tie rods, exhaust, valve seals, tune-up, refurb headlamp motors w/new gears, refurb UM6 radio/cassette/aux jack, new amp and speakers. Runs and handles probably better than new. Drove to VA and back, over 1,000 miles at 75-85 mph, averaged 26 mpg. Back home in central Ohio and not many car shows or Firebird clubs, other than T/A Nationals in August.

Anyway, great thread! I love to see Firebirds that are taken care of, regardless of mileage. -Tony

Thanks. Interior is still OK. Black is sun faded for sure, and small tear in the side bolster on the drivers side. Otherwise good. Headliner sagging a little but not terrible.

well the 92 i picked up REALLY cheap about 3 years had 262,XXX then and it drove like new. Has VERY low options, has been a great daily driver, even drove it to the TA Nationals twice.

The 79 is actually a Y89 Tenth Anniversary car i picked up around 6 or 7 years ago, had 58,XXX miles on it then, now has 68,XXX, all numbers matching and original. A previous owner painted it blue and put on a 77 front end, i put a correct 79 nose on it but kept it blue for now, ill paint it silver soon.

Here is an older pic of my 92 before some paint fixing next to its other sister, a 1978 Y88 Gold Edition i have had since 1993. Has the W72 400, WS6, Automatic. I saved it from the crusher at a local junkyard and restored it.

365k - That is amazing. Especially putting all those miles on yourself.

Wow, that's a nice find. As far as the previous owner goes, it never ceases to amaze me on what some folks will do to their cars. Does it still have the turbo wheels and silver leather interior?

Yes it does, the full silver interior is there and all stock, even the 8-Track works. I have the turbo wheels but just put on a set of 8" snowflakes, i figured i would put the turbo rims back on when i restore it back to a real 10th.

Ha ha at this point a lot of younger people won't know what a cassette player is let alone an 8 track.

Was 1982 the only year in for thirdgens that you could get an 8-track tape? I know the factory CD players were not available until 1989.

I'll post a pic of my car. 1988 IROC with 200,000 miles. I'm not the original owner but I have had the car for the last 13 years.
