85 trans am curiosity..
The short story of my "all original" 85 t/a. Picked it up with 70xxx original miles and it most certainly shows. Car had the lb9 305 TPI before I plucked it to drop in a 350 TPI. 4 wheel disk and ws6 bone stock. From what I've ben reaserching if it had that it should have the 16" cross lace rims like on the GTAs. I have 15" snowflakes that I've never seen on a third gen before with 255/60/15 on the rear and 235s on the front (not second gen snowflakes but look very similar with an extra row I'll say) . I wish I knew how to post pics of them Fits the same center caps as my 91 GTA with the gold cross lace. with the covers over the lugs I'm just wondering if it's a stock rim?

No it's like the snowflakes on the 70s trans ams but a bit different. Polished aluminum and gold snowflake.
Kinda Similar to the bandits but has the ws6 performance suspension center caps.

I got the wrong picture but if it is like the ones in 83Z28/L69's post above, I don't believe those are correct as I believe in 1985 WS6 came standard with 16" rims. Again, I ask how you determined you have WS6. Note that the Performance Suspension badge on the dash does not mean WS6. There was tiered Suspension levels and that Performance Suspension came with a lower (below WS6) tier.

Yup those are the rims!
the way that I checked and I'm sure I could be wrong was I measured the sway bars and basically went over the whole thing and compared it to my 91 GTA and everything appears to look the same. Is there any way to know for sure??

Re: 85 trans am curiosity..
in order to verify your car that would have the WS6 performance package is to check your SPID (Service Part Identification) label that would be in the center consule...i would believe that 85 to 90 firebirds would be in the center consule on the right hand side of the box. You would be looking for rpo "WS6" which would indicate that your vehicle would be equipped with the level III performance suspension package. "WS5" would be the trans am aero package. I can't remember off the top of my head what would be the RPO for the wheels. When i get a chance i'll see if i can look it up...otherwise, anybody else who have futher information can put there input here....

Ooooh ok. That would make sense only problem being now is that I swapped center consoles with my 91 and turfed the 85 due to being cracked lol. I know the exact sticker your talking about tho. Guess I didn't think that one through to well lol
Re: 85 trans am curiosity..
Look under the hood in front of the radiator. You may see a metal tag fastened to the "frame". If so, look for WS6. That tag will list some of the RPO codes but not all of them so I'm not 100% sure if WS6 will be there even if you have it. You may or may not have that metal tag as that was done away around 1985 - some 1985s have both that metal tag under the hood and the SPID sticker in the center console.
The RPO code for the 15" wheels you describe is N90, which I don't believe was factory as WS6 required 16" wheels in 1985.
