89 IROC CONVERTIBLE PACE CAR PHOTOS AND VIN

I am looking to confirm vin for Camaro Iroc Convertible used in Firehawk indurance series in California??? and photos...... in 1989....Heres what I know....originally a hard top automatic shipped to ASC for L98 and 6 speed and convertible install conversion......Drive train right out of a corvette and all "1LE options added????

Since it was a conversion and not a factory built pace car like the Players Challenge cars, even the RPO numbers wouldn't match so I doubt a VIN number would be of any use.

There were 3940 Z28 and IROC-Z convertibles made in 1989 out of 110,739 Camaros made that year. 111 came from the factory with the 1LE package. Any one of them could have been used.

If it's a true 1LE, it will also have RPO codes JG1, N10, N64, C41

The 6th digit in the VIN will tell you if it was a hardtop or convertible. 2=Hatchback Coupe, 3=Convertible

Actually he would be looking for a factory 350 Car with T-tops VIN... good luck with that one there was only how many of those?
