I have an 1989 Camaro with a 8th digit of "N" as in Nancy... that appears to be an undocumented, uncommon engine code as all the vin decode sites I have looked at thus far do not list "N" for any vin engine code...
8th digit from the left on title and vin plate on dash is in fact "N"
engine is a v-8 I know I can assume 305-350, I'd like to know which.
thanks in advance.

I'd say it's a typo...an error on the tag. For 1989, GM Vin code 8th digit "N" is for a 3.3L V6 used by Oldsmobile and Buick. It CAN'T mean anything else, undocumented or uncommon, by law I believe. That's part of what the 17 digit VIN is for.
