Okay so I checked the suffix code that's stamped behind the alternator and the code reads "V0305UD/". ......Now I thought that last slash was a part of a letter "A". But after cleaning and scrubbing for awhile I noticed no other part of an "A" was present so it literally looks like this .... / . Now I know "UDA" Means its a 305 and "UD" is a 307 but just didn't know what the slash is about. Can someone please help me with this annoying dilemma.

behind the left cyl head is a cast in number .either "5.0" or "5.7" this will answer your question definatively
Casting number is on the back driver side of the block right??

Yup: conveniently located in the most accessible place on the whole engine </sarcasm>; on top of the bell housing flange, behind the driver's side head. Block casting # is THE ONLY absolutely certain way to know; since it's impossible to turn a 305 block into a 350 or vice-versa, it's absolutely positively definitely THE TRUTH, while all else is mere guesswork.
About 99.999% of all "do I have a 305 or a 350" questions turn out to be 305s, so, you do the math...

Its also funny how used car salesmen will tell you "ITS GOT THE VETTE 350". Whether its an L03 or LB9 that's always theyre story.
