Not super impressed with what I've seen so far. Can't believe someone is paying $100k for this.

Sad but true, but did we really hope for anything else? This show will be off the air if they continue this crap, and the dream sequence is very lame too. That's time we could have spent showing the crew WORKING ON THE CAR. BTW, is that really an 800 year old William Daniels, or is it a crappy computer simulated version of his voice?

It's all BS, nobody - not even rich people would ever throw away 200K on a Kitt Car and David Hasselhoff ............ All BS for TV.

Yip, afraid you're spot on. This show could actually be interesting if they'd stick with the builds instead of the show biz. It's getting to be all about the showing off, and less about the cars. Counting Cars is better.

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!
BTW, it turns out Discovery is giving this car away in a contest. So that right there proves it was all for show, and that guy never really even bought the car! The whole thing had to be scripted. Like I said before, no way they "broke in" to Hoff's dressing room. It looked like an employee lunchroom/janitors closet, and Richard "sneaking" past he gaurd to get backstage was obviously fake. His back was clearly sticking up over the window, yet they show the gaurd acting like he didn't see. Man, I figured this would be off the wall, but it ended up being a lot lamer than I feared. He put $10k in that car, and "sold" it for $100k? Discovery obviously fitted that bill.

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!
Hi everyone!
I am Bob, from Bob's Prop Shop in Dallas Texas,
star of SCREEN MACHINES!!!
Make sure to watch tonight's episode on REELZ CHANNEL that will feature my 1983 Recarro edition Trans-AM being transformed into KITT.
Unlike our Monkey friends, we actually built this car, and we did it in only a week!
This isn't the first KITT car we have built and won't be the last.
We have 2 more we are working on now and one for a special client who wants me to put an LS3 conversion in it.
If there are any of you who have experience doing this I would love your advice and if you are in Dallas come by the shop!
I hope you enjoy our little show tonight and I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.
My first car when I was 16 was an 82 Firebird, so this is a life long passion!
Thanks!
Check out http://www.reelz.com/screen-machines/ for photos, clips, times and channels!

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!
Over the many seasons of The A-Team, they used a lot of vans, often as many as 4 different versions in one scene.
They had their "hero" van, which had the staggerd, 5 lug, 15" wide track wheels on a GMC 1500.
For off road scenes they would use the 8-lug GMC 3500 which had a thinner profile set of 16.5's, which is what is on my van.
For jump scenes they had an earlier 70's van with round headlights, a mid mounted engine, hollow body and roll cage.
For total destruction, such as one scene where the van was dumped in a river, they used a Ford Econoline!
I have actually seen as many as all of these in one sequence!
So, technically, my van is "screen accurate" depending on the scene.
These vans are getting harder to come by and you have to use what you can. Our van is a diesel and we use it to haul other stuff around, like our Delorean Time Machine or Robocop Police car. It comes in handy!!!

So Bob's Prop did the A Team van then? LOL I'd settle for a 1/18 scale right now..... But I've got news for him, the wheels are wrong. The van in the show had staggered rims, the back were much bigger than the front, and it looks like these tires are a little higher profile. BA's van also had lettered tires. How could they miss all that? But man, Benedict REALLY needs to cut that hair. Dude, that looks awful.....But a very cool video, thx for posting!

As most have mentioned,I'm sure 80% of the F & L KITT episode was "fake" made for TV.Why are they giving away a car that the rich $$ guy payed $100K for ???
To me.
I just hope it sparks more interest in the Knight Rider hobby
And it shines a light on third gens also !!

What a joke. They really did nothing special to the car except finish a few leftover projects. This was just a standard Firebird with Kitt dressing. Did you notice the burn out, the car didn't even have positrac. Only one tire was spinning. No engine upgrade etc etc etc. AND THIS TOOK 2 HOURS TO SHOW THEY DID ALMOST NOTHING!

I wouldn't even want to "WIN" this car. It would take another 10K to 15K to upgrade this car properly. It's all show and no GO!

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!
they left in the 85 center console and wrong style door panels
left in the "t" handle shifter
and didn't need to waste time making tail light housings
the factory tail lights were used in the show with the blackout over them
obvious that no one had done any research as to what should be correct on the car

I really like Fast-N-Loud, even though most of it is staged now, but this show SUCKED!!! They only completed a KITT build. Coulda been done in a 30 min. show. They did NO upgrades. Didn't even bother lowering it. Richard Rollins sold out on this one.

i agree 100%, a TOTAL WASTE OF MY TIME watching the two part episode of this!!
its such a ahame that this was the only thing on TV last night that was even "car related".....remind me of those episodes of American chopper where pauly was making grille's to cook on, and they would take vacations with a film crew following them....LAME!!!
the whole KITT thing could've been done sooo much better....and that dream sequence!!! wtf was that??? worst ever...I ended up watching chuck tv on you tube where he is doing an LS engine conversion on a chevelle, its a 7 part series....now that's better than those damn *** monkeys!!!!

I wonder what suspension they used and where did they put the "custom" panels they said they were making.

They didn't have much love for the third gen ... Rollins said "They are disposable cars - like Gillette razors" end quote.
Oh well, what did you expect. I think it was more a spoof on the 80's.
I could have bought a just painted Kitt project for $3K with all the parts.
The guy that hired the painter bailed and never picked it up. But I passed, didn't want the project.

I know what you mean. I'm not as tech savvy as a lot of guys on here, so some entertainment value counts for a little with me. That being said, I'd like to see a LOT more technical stuff about what they are doing to the car so we could actually learn something. There was a little of that at first, but it's getting to be less and less as we go.

I think we've reached the bottom. That show isn't long for this world if they keep that up. It wasn't even entertaining. Almost looks like the producers said "don't argue, you're doing this", and those two showed their total contempt for thirdgens by throwing crap together and using the dream and Hasselhoff mess as filler. Unforgivable. And I've got news for Kaufman. That race car he built to run Pikes Peak was one of the ugliest cars I've ever seen. He improved it some, but it still wasn't worth the fuss he raised over it. I'd take a thirdgen any day.

Why waste time fabricating metal taillights for KITT making them look different because they were too lazy to figure out how to make the Tail light Blackout work with the stock tail lights?
Stock taillights give it that look when you hit the brake pedal or turn on the lights the Tail light lenses give off 5 rows of red lights running across horizontally, (See Intro Video @ 2:01) which is show correct, and Trans Am correct, not just some bulbs to light up the back with no rows. That's not KITT or Trans Am.
Not to mention their dream sequence skit in a still car with the green screen behind them. It's all about the money with no interest in making a quality show.
Richard comes off as Arrogant, Ignorant and Condescending Chauvinist. Especially with the WOOO! Beer assistant Pretentious clown attitude every 2 minutes.
It's a show, but I think he's like that in real life. Even his employees can't stand him sometimes.
I don't think I could go 1 day without Punching his Lights out. I've got a thin skin when it comes to talking smack about 3rd gens especially since I'm a Nerd about KITT details and a little OCD about how all the parts on a KITT replica must be 100% Correct and how some parts weren't correct.
At least the Screen Machines KITT Episode with Video Bob showed some more detail into the build, like the Custom metal bracket they were fabricating and welding to the front end in order to make KITT's nose to fit right.
Most people including myself would think the KITT nose is just a quick ready to install as it arrives, including the dash just plug and play, but unfortunately it's not that easy. There's a lot of modification that has to be done in order to make the Nose and Dash fit properly and to be properly Fastened permanently.

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!

The only disposable thing there is the show. They cant build anything ,they dont know cars ,they call a car for which they get paid 100,000$ disposable ,they knows s**t about the Knight rider show ,they have the charisma of a kidney stone and jokes to get you sad.
that guy is not on Discovery probably because he has no stupid haircut.

I watched videobob's (cool of you to be here on TGO Bob) KITT episode of Screen Machines. What huge improvement over the tools on Fast N Loud. At least Bob and his crew actually built something and showed it in the episode. Bob - your car looked very well executed.
