Like every one said, just do your best. I'll always buy NOS parts if I can possibly find them, but it's getting harder and harder.

A word about NOS parts Gents.
To be 'correct' (Oh No, not 'THAT' word again) a given part - switch A was at the assembly plant waiting to be installed. When production ended if any switch A's were left over, they were placed in 'Service Parts' to be used for warranty claims, etc. To me, these are True NOS.
When switch A's were depleted, maybe years later, and demand was still there, GM would get any supplier to make more to their specs. To me, these are Not True NOS.
And to make matters worse, switch A could have been assigned many different part numbers as the years rolled by.
Confused yet?..Lol
And if you're wondering, Yes I do have a few NOS Camaro parts

Re: Important to use delco only on a restore?
One thing to be mindful of is there are times that you might not find the exact correct part on a car from the factory. I would imagine that this does not take place nearly as much as it had in the past, but I know from talking to those that actually worked in factories that if they ran out of a screw or a bolt, instead of running out and stopping the entire line they could go out and buy some at a local hardware store to get them through. So the color might be off, the screw might be an English rather than a metric.
My father worked for Buick and he had a lot of stories about this type of thing.
Now there were also times that if they ran out of a particular special part or option that was ordered, they would pull the car off to the side without the part and wait for it to come in, it just depended on what the part was.
