Third Gen Prototype Camaro Tail Lights Vs. 2015 Mustang Tail Lights
I knew I saw the new Mustang's tail light style before on another car. The Camaro. I scanned the pic of the Camaro in question from one of my books on the development of the third gen Camaro.
Re: Third Gen Prototype Camaro Tail Lights Vs. 2015 Mustang Tail Lights
correct, but based on spy photos, the design will remain similar to the present car and will not be seen as a major design change like the 1st to 2nd gen, or 2nd to 3rd, or 3rd to 4th, etc.

I don't like the original 5th gen borderline SUV styling. But I will give the 2015 z28 credit. The 15' z28 looks alright, definitely a lot better than the original style 5th gen.
Hopefully the new design will look more like the 2015 z28. According to the picture you posted above, it kinda looks like that's what they are trying to do with the new body style.
Re: Third Gen Prototype Camaro Tail Lights Vs. 2015 Mustang Tail Lights
So GM is finally turning all (those left ) muscle cars into ricers? Why would anyone buy a Camaro that looks like a Mitsubishi?
Give up the agressive look for a sissy japanese car ...really sad .

I'm not sure, I mean, they both have the same # of vertical sections but when I open up both pics I see very different lights.

From the picture Scott posted, Here is what I was able to extrapolate. Some of it was a guess, due to the paisley pattern, like the door opening... but for the most part I believe it is true to the form
Maybe it will look better in person... I hope they don't go this direction with the new Grand National

Honestly I don't understand why they bothered to cover it in that pattern, it doesn't generally look all that different from a 2015 at a glance.

Reminds me of that early 1980's song "Send in the Clones"
Isn't it rich, aren't we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground
You in mid-air
Send in the Clones
Isn't it bliss, don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around
One who can't move
Where are the Clones? Send in the Clones
Just when I stopped opening doors
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours
Making my entrance again with my usual flair
Sure of my lines no one is there
Don't you love farce? My fault I hear
I thought that you'd want what I want
Sorry my dear but where are the Clones?
There ought to be Clones, quick send in the Clones
What a surprise, who could foresee?
I've come to feel about you what you felt about me
Why only now when I see that you've drifted away
What a surprise, what a cliche?
Isn't it rich, isn't it queer?
Losing my timing this late in my career
And where are the Clones? Quick send in the Clones
Don't bother they're here

Re: Third Gen Prototype Camaro Tail Lights Vs. 2015 Mustang Tail Lights
Those prototype thirdgen tails may be similar to the '15 Mustang, but I'd argue it's likely just coincidence.
The 6th gen Camaro looks like a snoozefest, just like the aging 5th gen. Do something different. 5th gen hasn't been out that long, but even with the '14 refresh it seems like it's been out for a decade, probably because there's virtually zero variation in appearance year to year. Probably have the same low rent GM interior in it too with gaudy, bulbous, rounded plastic buttons and ***** everywhere. I still maintain GM can't design an interior to save its life.
'15 Mustang is OK from the back, not so much from the front. Side would be ok if the lower rocker panel was painted (or different altogether) so that the car doesn't look like it rises up between the wheels, it's tapered like a bone or something. Lower fascias don't look right. Mid-cycle refresh come 2020, that car *might* be gorgeous. Lots of potential, just not there right now. Also the interior is really, really nice, but the gauge cluster looks like something they intentionally made ugly, only to wow us later with the refresh. Looks like it's right out of a crown vic or some other basic uninspired car, especially with that hideous gear selector like a column shifter would have. I like my '14 more...way more, but the '15 isn't a bad car at all.
But if I totaled my '14, I wouldn't even consider a Camaro, it would be between the Challenger Scat Pack or a '15 GT - I'd have to consider it because it probably is the best car of the three. Challenger is too fat and the interior is too corporate Chrysler, and deals aren't really to be had on Scat Pack cars so the Challenger would probably get a passing consideration and I'd probably end up in another GT. Or I'd just grow up finally and get an Audi.
Re: Third Gen Prototype Camaro Tail Lights Vs. 2015 Mustang Tail Lights
Puma, what mold were you made from? I have been looking at the Challenger Scat Pack or the R/T Plus since the 2015 announcement. No decisions yet, so I spent this weekend looking at BMW 3 Series and an Audi A4/A6. I just got home from Audi! Sounds like we like the same cars.

Lol indeed. I always liked the R/T Classic in prior years best and that would've been the model to have, but now I think it would have to be a 392 car. Don't know that I could really do it though, they are such pigs.
I'm an A3/S3 or A4/S4 fan as my frontrunner down the road, probably a B9.5 A4/S4 once the B9 comes out and then goes through its mid cycle facelift in a few years. The current car is still gorgeous from the outside, and the interior materials are still top notch, but the ergonomics are a decade old. Soon as you look in an A4 it's painfully obvious how dated the layout is. On the other hand I love the fresh contemporary interior in the new A3 (and upcoming TT - wow) and hope to see elements of that in the B9 A4 in a year or so.
The F30 3 series is so low rent and cheap looking in and out IMO, and easily has the worst interior of anyone in town at that price point. BMWs pricing has gotten outright asinine for what really are just mediocre cars with a brilliant marketing machine. $60k for a 335i is obscene, and close to $90k for a loaded M3 vert is outright offensive. We are only a couple years away from a one hundred thousand dollar three series. BMW hasn't built an ultimate driving machine in 20 years. Not to say you can't get a good driving car still, but it's no longer standard - you have to option it right in a world of black halogen headlight no line junk everyone buys off the lots. Of course what's the recipe? Dynamic handling and the same old tired clapped out Msport package that's been required for the last fifteen years. 1 series or X6, ten years ago or today, let's force the same Msport bumper onto every model no matter what. So tired. Best BMW you can probably get? A 320i with Sport and lighting, and a manual - probably the purest BMW built today and arguably the best buy.
But right now today I'd give my money to Audi, personally. Had great experiences with VW all around the last few years. When I bought my Mustang I looked hard at the '14 A4 Premium Plus Quattro/Tiptronic and actually the 228i with Msport etc. In the end I found the 2 series to be ugly from the back and with all the usual BMW BS and I figured I had time for an Audi later, for now I figured this is likely my last chance to have a fun car until I'm an empty nester and the '13-'14 5.0 was just gorgeous so I said hell with it, 5.0 while I can - never been a badge *****, I buy what I like. When I'm bald I'll gladly have a Vette.
Every once in a while though I get crazy and I think that a Corolla S Premium isn't a half bad little car (LED headlights standard...) that would be cheap as chips to buy and own, would last forever without the German car drama (really not a fan of leasing but not really a fan of any German car out of warranty either) and most importantly could just be auto washed, driven, not detailed, and parked anywhere like everyone else - seriously detailing the three cars I have is stressful enough as it is, it'd be liberating to drop one completely, lol. Could never drive a car like my Camaro or 5.0 or Audi and not take meticulous care of it, that would just feel wrong. But a Corolla? Who cares, lol

PArts of me like this a little better, it is cleaner, not so Baroque...
I think with what I see with the new design of the test car, the front looks like every other Chevy model, like the same guy that designed the Malibu, got to design the Camaro, This stands out but still says "Camaro"
