Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Hi everyone. Looking for some information on Team Camaros. They were conversions by Choo Choo Customs, but besides what they changed, I can't find much information. Was curious if anyone knows how many were made and if any are even still out there today, along with any other history or facts.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
The Team Camaro was one of three (that I know of) Choo Choo customs option packages that they offered for Camaros...
The three, were the SS, SX and Team Camaro.
Here is what I have...

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
AFAIK they're still in business.
Call em and ask. Probably can't tell you how many still exist (nobody can), but they can most likely tell you many they made, if they're so inclined.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
If you get production numbers, post them here for the rest of the world... It would be interesting information, especially since I have never seen any of these in person that I can recall...
UPDATE,
I sent choo Choo customs an eamail, I hope to get some response. If I get anything I will post it here.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Did they add a glove compartment in the dash?
I have that same 'wood' paneling in my car, came from the junkyard. interesting to see what having all the pieces looks like.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Ah, I missed the fine print that says that the Team Camaro is genuine wood. Mine are definitely plastic overlay lol.
Gotta say, for just being appearance mods, they look pretty horrendous. Not sure why someone would want to pay for just appearance upgrades.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Looks like about half of the Team Camaro pieces are gone... The front and rear add-on ground effects are missing...
Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Just stumbled across this thread... I own one of these Team Camaro Choo Choo Customs. I am actually getting ready to sell it (unfortunately), and found this post when I was trying to find any comparisons for price out there. My Camaro is in MINT condition and only has about 60,000 original miles on it. It looks just like the attached picture, as it still has EVERYTHING from the original Choo Choo Customs package on it-- ground effects, Cragar wheels, wood instrument panel, decals... everything. I'll be posting it for sale later this week, but let me know if anyone is interested in more information.

Wow. This thread has a cool twist. Took some time but here one is.
Yes, please do post pics. What state is the car in?

I'll try to post some pictures in the next few days. Located in Michigan. I actually bought this car in 2009 from the original owner who lived in Ohio. It's been garage kept all its life and stored every winter, so never seen snow.

I actually like the way it looks... usually aftermarket does cars an injustice, but in this case it kind of works..

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
Billy,
It might seem harsh, but I do not intend it that way, but good luck with that one. If you have all the parts, your best bet would be to try to just fix and rejuvenate what you have. Might take some creativity. The graphics could be remade by someone that has a vinyl cutter, make sure they realize what you are doing, a good job will make the difference over some hack who just wants to get the job done. Nothing worse than paying someone for a job, only to have them do it half way decent and expect you just to take it.

Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
The side pipes on the SS & SX models were cool in a NASCAR sort of way. Wonder if there was a performance gain or loss with those?
Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
I have a 1986 Camaro "Hugger" with the LG4 305 4bbl. Two tone dark blue and gray, with the same exact ground effects as the Team Camaro. Also has the faux woodgrain interior. I've had it since new, and kept it completely original. At some point I'll post picks, although I would really love to have a new set of ground effects to replace mine once I repaint it. I contacted Choo Choo customs several years ago, but they didn't have the ability at the time to make new ones, due to their molds not being available. hope some of that info helps.
Re: Team Camaro (Choo Choo Customs)
I remember seeing 1 or 2 red & silver Team Camaro's running around Chattanooga.. Last time I recall seeing one on the road had to be the mid 1990's.. Also I never seen any of the other color combinations with the silver lower half although they were supposed to have been offered in Blue/Silver. Black/Silver.. Etc... I just don't think Choo Choo Customs produced that many, their bread & butter at the time was custom trucks so that was probably their main focus IMO..
