Saw a strange 84 Bird today in a yard. Offwhite color with gold striping around the bottom of car, "500 SE" on the lower doors, gold decal on sail panel outside something like Pontiac special edition. No engine in it although i think it had 305/4bbl code. Interior had a woodgrained dash and console.

What was/is this car??

 

Sounds like a repaint. Its supposed to be just a regular white color with blue decals, blue interior, and its supposed to be 500LE not SE. Its basically a sticker package that a dealer in AZ put on some cars, they have a numbered dash plaque, a unique rear spoiler and the stickers. They were all V8 cars, some had autos, some had t-tops. I owned one for about 3 years. The 83's looked different, they were silver with a black bottom half. My car was built at Van Nuys, and was sold in the Southern California area.

The woodgrain was added later, that wasnt something that was added as part of the package.
