Re: 86 ta With 4aq
Probably about the same as any other 86 TA with otherwise equivalent options and in similar condition.
Probably ALOT less than it's going to cost you to "restore" it.
Never heard of that RPO code.

Re: 86 ta With 4aq
I am not sure what 4AQ would be... According to the master RPO list...
The 4AU is a color, 4BL is a tire 4BM is tires, 4BU is a Color... 49Q is a color...
If it was a color it would indicate a molding color... 4A being the color and Q indicating the molding color. I do not think it is a color tho as all of the Third gen colors I have ever seen were 2 numbers and then a letter or number indicating what it was... IE a Yellow car (in 1986) would be 51U, 51 is yellow, and U is Upper... So I am reasonably sure we can rule that out.
Post what is unique about the car and we can discuss this further, but without any more information than just an RPO that does not line up with anything is a bit difficult.

Well, let's let HIM tell US what HE believes he meant to type, before we go putting characters in his keyboard for him.
Although, it looks ALOT like the typical "stir the pot somehow" post from a n00b about a bunch of diarrhea of the mouth and monkey-spank. Especially since he hasn't come back and told us what he thinks he's got.

Two posts, the above link is the other one... Safe to say A4U, but I pegged this thread as trolling from the beginning too. I guess I look at the value of any "special" thirdgen the same way, someone has to want that "special" feature to make it worth any premium, and if there are many cars with that "special" feature, they're all worth less because that someone has more options to choose from. At the end of the day, most thirdgens have some redeeming feature. Aside from 1984 L69 Z28s, any basic red IrocZ, the mountains of 1986 cars, and teal green toilet bowl RSs, they're all "special" to someone. So what are they worth? Not enough to justify a restoration for resale.

Re: 86 ta With 4aq
Restoration for enjoyment only IMHO..
Personally I think ANY car to restore to just sell it is a bad bet, TV shows like Counting Cars does it for other people that have to have that car. But just because you spent $30,000 on a car does not make it worth that to someone else. Even those TV cars, very few will sell for what is invested into them.
My point is, the hobby started not because people wanted to flip cars, but to improve the cars they had, rather than spend money on a new car. Now we have this up side down idea that "if I restore it, they will come." Unfortunately most cars are not sitting in a field of dreams, rather they are a labor of love, and not one that you expect to make a fortune on.

Re: 86 ta With 4aq
İ am pretty sure you mean a4q which would make it a 1st year players challenge series car. Look for bolt holes in the floor from the cage, on the firewall driversside there would be a plaque or 2 holes from the casc plaque if it was raced in the easteren series.

I am pretty sure he needs TO TELL US HIMSELF what he means.
That being said, most people I know would pay LESS for any car with 4 holes in the floor. Only a very few certain people (like us) would pay MORE for that. And to okfoz' point, those who would, AREN'T going to want to pay somebody else to "restore" it for them, meaning, the whole notion of "worth" vs "restore", remains UPSIDE DOWN for the person doing the "restoration".
