Dealer accessory? Extra fuse
Found this in the back of a 91 RS I have. Has anyone ever seen something like this before? Looks like something handed out at a dealership. Says to put with cars equipped with underwood lights and the word "dealer" appears everywhere. The back is blank

Yup, a over the counter/dealer thing, often found in glovebox, console or rear locking compartment.
There was someone on here looking for one of those, if you wana sell.

Yeah, the underhood light is a piece of you-know-what in general... it has a "tilt" switch, such that if the car is parked on a slant or something, it can turn on. It would kinda suck for a car on a hauler to do that (which of course cars are often at strange angles on those), and the light to be on for like a week or something, and the batt to therefore be dead when the car arrives at the dealer. So the factory took that fuse out to keep the light from coming on, then as part of dealer prep, the dealer is supposed to put it back in before delivering the car to the customer. Looks like that car didn't get that done to it.

When I was selling cars back in the day every so often we would get a car in that had a dead battery caused by this exact issue. Some of the prep guys were a little dense and couldn't figure out why it was always the cars located in that one area everytime.

Re: Dealer accessory? Extra fuse
This was hung from the rear view mirror by the factory on all the cars. I did prep from 87-93 and installed my fair share of them. The proper location is hanging from the rear view mirror arm. Many times the delivery driver would rip them off but I got to drive the Camaros and Corvettes off the carrier so I would carefully remove them because the hooks tear easily. I would install fuses from the parts department so I could keep the carded ones for the future. Glad I did as I have them for my cars now.
