Block casting number question
Block casting number question
Ok here is my question. A friend of mine and I are trying to identify the block in his 1988 GTA. We had assumed it was the original engine until we decided to change the oil pan gasket. It turns out it is a four bolt main block. Did GTA's ever come this way? We were kind of stumped so we got all the numbers off the block. Here they are.
Taken from the back passenger side of the block.
14093638
1986 - 1994 350 engine
Taken from driver side back
E217 (casting date we believe)
E- May
21 - 21st day
7 - 1987
Taken from the front passenger side.
V08260UA (date engine installed in vehicle and what carline)
From what we could determine here:
V - Flint
08 - August
26 - 26th day
0UA - suffix code (but we can't find it)
Here is the problem. We can't find this suffix code anywhere. Anybody??????

suffix code is CUA which matches L98, TPI, Auto, 1988 Firebird, but i don't know why there would be a 4 bolt block in there???
