I picked up an 87 Trans AM the other day to fix up and sell to raise money for my GTA, and it was originally a 305TPI Automatic drum brake rear end(i guess that means 2.73's). Has a differant motor now, but anyways....It has a digital dash, i didnt know they put them in TA's, just GTA's. Is this rare?

 

It's sort of rare, but not unheard of. My friend has an 86 TA with the digital dash. I think that's definately the rarest year. Roshambo has an 88 TA with one too.

 

I've heard of more T/A's with the dash then GTA's... I wouldn't consider it rare, valuable, or desirable... its on the nifty scale, about equal with the overhead console, or contour seats...

 

Why not transplant the digi dash into your GTA. Those things look great. I wouldn't let it go.

 

I can think of a couple reasons but one stands out in my mind.... cause it'd be a major pain in the buttocks.

 

Sounds like my car's twin; LB9/700-R4, digital dash, overhead console, 10 bolt w/ 2.73s and rear drum brakes.
