Picture of factory painted spindle

Here is a pic of a factory painted spindle from my 90. Curious if there are others out there. I know of at least 2 others from recent posts. Any one know what color this is?

Axle/Gears: Dana 44 IRS 3.75:1

don't know what they actually called it but it looks like foundry scale gray to me. Your dust shield is galvanized, they are not all like that...

interesting. did not know that. guess we are the only 2 with grey spindles. maybe it’s the 2LE option

I think more of the later ones were galvanized, the earlier ones looked like aluminized steel, or perhaps just a different looking process. Maybe someone out there knows....
