I like the Red stripe & Red IROC sticker with the Red interior... Not really a huge Red interior guy, but this looks kinda neat... Would prefer Gray or Black.

The Vinyl is Vacuum bonded to foam. The foam breaks down over time and then it just lets go... Seems to be a common problem, worse on the later cars without the extra highlight line in the arm rest...
I imagine you might be able to put it back together to make it look right... But never tried... I would think some sort of thin epoxy or something to get behind the vinyl, some wood boards to hold it while it cured... but without trying I do not know...

Re: 9,074 MILE 1990 IROC-Z
Basically I think it is a similar construction to the Firebird center console that does the same thing... It has been 20 years since I really looked at them, but that is what I remember.
The worst are the armrests with the cap covering the top bolt. They were used a few years in the 88-90 range, and they're almost always pulled apart. The later open bolt arm rests do it too, but not as commonly. The 82-87'ish style with the stripe don't generally peel apart.
The ones I've looked at, the foam looks fine, it's just cleanly pulled away from the smooth shiny plastic of the armrest core. It doesn't take much to fix, a few drops of CA, and hold together while it kicks. If a person wanted to get extra fancy, they could rough up the plastic a bit for tooth and use a fancy adhesive, clamping, etc, but I've never needed to get too serious with the later open bolt type. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to recommend a much more involved repair, everyone seems to have their own preferred method to glue something back together.
I had this happen on my '88 back in '93. I didn't have the Internet as a resource and as a younger guy, probably didn't do the repair properly. I fixed mine by just using a two part epoxy, smearing it all over the plastics of the armrest and securing it until it dried. Knowing me, I probably put paper or cardboard on the armrest and used duct tape to pull it together.
No issues when I sold the car. So that should say the repair is very simple.
