Engine / Valve Cover Paint
In the 80s did chevy paint their blocks / valve covers orange, or is that something that was had ti be done by the owner?
Basically, if you come across a low mileage chevy and it has orange valve covers and an orange block, with the claim it is all original, could it be true?

As far as I know all thirdgen engines were black, however a car can still have its original engine that was just painted at some point.

Chevy stopped using orange in about 1976. Then they went to blue until 83, when they switched to black. If it's orange it's not the original paint.
