History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
Wow, $32K and they couldn't throw some hatch struts on it? As an aside, I hate when dealerships (and private parties) write descriptions like that. Tell me specific details about the car, don't use a thesaurus to come up with every adjective and adverb ever conceived to describe how I'll feel driving it.

I agree. The salesmen's pitch isn't effective on me. Sure, I want details that the average buyer doesn't care about but even still, the buyer for this car probably doesn't care if KITT has less gadgets.
Also, 50 pictures and not a single shot of the underside? Prove the $32k asking price and let the buyer see the whole car.
The seller's 625 figure is not including exports nor some 1989 production. While exports aren't considered a large portion and it's not a big difference to the total numbers, I don't like cutting out known production numbers especially when using the word "ever". They were all built regardless where they ended up going.
Regarding the hatch struts, they're sized different on the Notchback and I'm not aware of any advertised place that has direct replacements.
It's actually one of those ball ends on the hatch side. I had planned on welding on what I need on one side to get some new struts to work
I admit it's been a while since I've had to look into it but I thought there was a difference in length as well? I'm sure there's resources out there to address this but I can understand why a normal seller didn't fix the issue since you can't just order a replacement. Atleast not that I know of.

Leonard, I had 3 at one time but sold 2 of them several years ago. I kept the nicer one but it's not on the same level as this one advertised.
While there's some non OEM stuff done to this car that can be changed and the car itself appears to be in nice condition, I think the seller's asking price is a little ahead of the curve.
i tried to find the correct struts years ago when i purchased an original notch hatch. I even had found the correct part number but was never able to find any replacement struts

There are places that rebuild them so if you have a pair of the correct struts but they’re dead, they can be refurbished.
