1983 Z-28 GAA CLASSIC CAR AUCTION

I just watched this super clean 1983 Z-28 with Crossfire Injection go through the auction. Went as hi as $29,000 and was a no sale. I find it very strange that car did not sell. It does have low miles (14,600) and Lear Siegler Conteur interior but sounds off to me.

They should have taken that bid. With crossfire that is the best they will get imo.

Happy happy joy joy if 29k ever becomes a real number for an early car. I can’t imagine it ever happening. Not to be pessimist bound, but but but can there ever be the supply and demand issue?

I totally agree, you just don’t see many 82 to 84 low mileage clean Z-28

Re: 1983 Z-28 GAA CLASSIC CAR AUCTION

My '82 pace car has gotten a lot of attention on FB marketplace, but still has not sold at $16k. At least 50% of those that contacted me were only willing to pay $10k. I've had a couple serious people, but the transaction just hasn't finalized. A 29k mile '82 special edition, in great shape, can't get $16k, I wonder what's really happening with this car not selling at that price. Or, the fact that it bid up that high to begin with!

I Googled the vin # and came up with this. I'm sure it is an old listing.

Your 82 is awesome and I think that's a very fair asking price especially as it's a 4-speed, but just a hunch - Gen X / older Millennials who are nostalgic for thirdgens never really got into the whole "pace car" thing. People with 16k to spend on a thirdgen Camaro are looking for IROC-Z or 1LE.

It sure looks like a nice car, great color combo and well optioned. $29K is really good money for that car. The owner should have dropped the reserve and accepted the bid.

Average ones, no, not at all. But ones as mint as Scott's pace car or the one in the original post, easily.
