History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
So I've got a 1984 firebird with the 305 it's automatic it's got red paint but the bottom half is a gray color and I've got red turbine wheels and leather steering wheel I've checked my vin and it just says base but some of the things it has I've read came on the s/e's
Welcome to the site! I’m not a Firebird guy, but JT and some of the other guys will be able to help you. If you have the list of option codes for the car, take a picture and post it. It’s normally located in the center console armrest and has a bunch of codes on it. Here’s a photo of one that was posted earlier.

The S/E received a different VIN code from the Firebird and Trans Am. The 5th character of the VIN should be X if it were an S/E. The S character, from your example, indicates it's a base Firebird. That means that's what the car was built and came from the factory as. Keep in mind the car is nearly 40 years old and parts can be changed/swapped in that time.

@Agent13 thanks for the additional information you provided to the topic. I never heard of that promotional package and don't have that sales bulletin. Just knew the VIN didn't classify it as the S/E.
