Mud flaps/guards

When I purchased my car about 10 or so years ago it had mud flaps on it. Regrettably I took them off and threw them away (I think)

Was this an actual option? Thoughts on how they look on our cars? The look kinda grew on me after the fact. I wanna say they had Z28 or something printed on them but I can't recall

Not from the factory, but local dealerships might have installed them back in the day as a means of boosting their profit margins.

IMO out of place.

GM 12371381 is the part number for the Z28 splash guards.

They look like steamed dong tips. If you need mud flaps you bought the wrong vehicle. I suppose you could make the case they protect the paint just behind them from rock chips and, in my case, rubber but you won't see them on my ride.
