I bought a 85 camaro a few months back
it has Lb9 tpi engine..the decals around the car say z28..tpi.
the car has been painted white..but it used to be maroon
Here is my question's
I ran the rpos on it
1st
rpo code YR2..SAYS CUstom front seat? The driver and passenger seats are normal..ie not electronic
theres also codes for computer controlled springs?
So is my car a iroc or z28?
what is the major differnces between the 2?<<with the lb9 engine>?

B4Z is the code for IROC-Z
the code for custom seats means the seats with headrests and cloth door panels, instead of the 1 piece seat with vinyl doorpanels. Power seats were a separate option.
All camaros had computer selected springs.
Both Z28s and IROC-Zs had Z28 emblems on the exterior of the car. IROC-Zs should say so right under the Z28 on the dash emblem.
Also, if it is an IROC-Z it should have the rpo for 16" wheels, as well as a decal on the drivers door specifying such.
Hope this helps. There are a lot of other things you can check too, but the above should be enough.

If your car is an IROC-Z, it should also say Z28/IROC-Z on the dash.
