I was surprised when I saw the 3.23 gear on the SPID. I was expecting a 3.08.
Me too but I was also wondering if the drums were originally aluminum, which it appears not. My 1988 T/A is fairly loaded (T-Top, LB9, digital cluster and deluxe interior) but has the 2.73 gears with aluminum drive shaft and aluminum rear drums.

I really like the '87 LG4s. They are sooo much better than the early ones. They almost should have renamed it LG5 or something, that's how different they are. The one in my '87 IROC, was smooth and torquey. It was only let down by it's 700R4 tuned to hit top gear ASAP and it's 2.73 gears. This one with a 5 speed and 3.23 gear is a whole different animal. I have a few bugs to work out though.
What's the other side of that lid and air cleaner base look like, where the duct is? It looks like there's a wide-open hole through the side of the air cleaner base, in the view you've posted. How about a view of the side that I'm asking about? I'm wondering if that lid could be used on a different base.
Because if the base units are all the same size, and that lid can be used on a different base, then something else that might help you unlock even MORE POWER (great clickbait caption on that video, and a sense of humor lol) with your functional cowl induction unit and lid, is an L69 dual snorkel base under that lid. The L69 base has a 15" diameter where the lid sits on it.
I know you're a very "factory-stock" guy, so I don't know if something like that would be too radical of a change for you or not, but I think it would be an interesting combination.
Is that other picture of an exhaust pipe? Was that on the car?

I'll post a pic later.
There is an inner lid which seals with air cleaner element. And yes, I could put that lid on my L69 dual snorkel system.
Yes, that is the factory pipe. All pre-bent systems for our cars are sold out or back ordered, so I had one fabricated.
Mines an 84, and not sure if your linkage is different. But I would remove the screw securing the solenoid lever to the flapper shaft, remove the entire solenoid, and linkage and save. Reinstall the screw with some wire under it, and anchor the wire "somewhere", to hold the valve open. Should be simple enough.
Once the scoop becomes functional what about the hood insulation??? Does it stay or go or get trimmed. I've been searching and haven't come across any pic of the insulator on an original factory car.
I'll have a few days to think about it, since it's going to the body shop tomorrow morning to have rusted battery tray cut out and new replacement welded in.

Thought there was a picture of the stuff installed on that thread i posted on fb from here.
If you hold the air induction parts up in place under the hood you'll see exactly how to hook it all up. There's a little hole in the blanket for the front leg to poke through and sit on the top side of the hood brace. Then its just the 7mm screw holding that in.

Thanks Tony for the links to those excellent threads. None of them had pics of the airbox installed with the hood insulator though.

If you have a button on the dash with a slider, you would have the subwoofer. The reason I ask is you have the fancy speaker grilles. I am not sure if it was part of the subwoofer package or if it is part of the Custom interior.
Subwoofer option code is UQ7. It is not listed on this vehicle.
That's interesting about the speaker covers, John. My 1988 T/A has the deluxe interior but does not have the speaker covers. It also doesn't have the UQ7. I suppose someone could have changed Charlie's or changed mine.
Just checked my GTA, which of course has the deluxe interior but no UQ7, and it does have the fancy speaker covers.

I thought it was part of the subwoofer option, but apparently not. I ended up removing my purple covers and painting the mesh black, it looks better than the pealing cover. However you could get some new speaker material and cut them out and glue it on. I have considered doing that.

I think you're right that it's part of the B20, even though B20 is defined in the 1987 product manual and speaker covers are not mentioned. That is not conclusive, though.
I'm starting to think that I did remove the covers on my '88 T/A (B20) because of the same reason as you where the cloth was peeling. In fact I just looked at my past pictures over 20 years ago and confirmed it did have them. So B20 does appear to be the factor.
Strange that my car has the luxury trim group, yet has manual windows and locks.
They ordered the W63 package:
C60 = A/C
N33 = Tilt Steering wheel
AK1 = Colored Keyed Custom Belts
UM7 = ETR AM/FM Radio
B84 = Color Coordinated Custom Body Side Moldings
CD4 = Controlled Cycle Wipers
TR9 = Lamp Group
K34 = Cruise Control
A31 = Power Windows
AU3 = Power Door Locks
A90 = Remote Deck Lid Release
But notice, instead of A31 and AU3, you got B6W and B6V. W63 allowed the deletion of power windows (B6W) and deletion of power locks (B6V) from the above list for a discount.
So, yeah, they definitely did not want power windows and locks because they specifically deleted it from the W63 package.

I got the information from the Parts & Illustration Catalogs.

Z31 is the Identification Price Sheet Advance,
WS8 is Price Order Acknowledgement
WY1 is Dealer Protection
ZF7 Sales Processing Option #26
ZF9 Sales Processing Option
On my lists of all the RPO codes I do not see anything to distinguish between a Dealer Lot car and a Special Order. It might be WS8 (Price order Acknowledgement) but That is a guess.

Thanks again. I cant imagine a dealer deleting PW and PDL though.
