History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
PHS is moving buildings so I sent to Allied to get a copy of the original dealer invoice on my 1989 GTA and now have all sorts of questions as it looks a lot different then the Camaro ones I have looked at. Will the PHS documents show anything different than GM Historical/Allied and/or have more info?
I cant get either dealer code 50-480 and the ship to 35-992 to pull up and other than t-tops it shows no billed options. It has the 5.7 listed but no cost? This car also has steering wheel controls for the stereo and an automatic with pw,pl,etc. How much of those things would just fall under the GTA or are they just missing on the invoice?
The other thing I noticed was the msrp price versus the invoice difference on the base cars. On the 2 Iroc Camaro invoices I have it is13490.00 and 12046.57 so 1443.43 diff but on this GTA it was 20339.00 and 13731.60 so a lot greater difference of 6607.40 . The GTA also does not have the pdi time and a few other items the Camaro ones do.
Was this car maybe exported originally? Carfax shows no history on it until 1996 when it was titled in Florida so no help there.
Re: 1989 GTA will PHS show anything diff from GM Hist
Those are copies of the GM invoice. I have said many times that they do not include all RPOs that are found on the SPID. Yours is pretty short, but most are far from complete.
On the GTA, the 5.7 was standard so it was part of the GTA cost. You could get a credit if you ordered the 5.0L
Your VIN does not appear to be an exported example.

Thanks. Unfortunately the spid is gone as the console was missing when I got the car as they had started taking it apart to build a street race car out of so I had been hoping to learn more from the invoice. There is a broadcast sheet stuck to the passenger rear foot well but it looks mostly to be interior code related. It does have the vin though and in the center had a large GT/A printed .

One of the Pontiac sites was talking about the 35-992 was reserved for zone use cars with 35 being the Michigan zone. That could also explain the big difference between the 2 prices.
