How many V8, manual trans cars were there with t-tops?

Have someone trying to tell me there were only 2000... that sounds much too low!

 

2000 is most certainly not accurate, so don't listen to that guy. But I don't think there are production figures that break that down.

 

GM didn't keep track of option combinations, so have the guy tell you where he got his numbers. Probably a sister's friends father knew somebody whose brother was an executive and said this.

 

the Robert Casey Firebird book breaks out this info to some degree. it tells you how many manuals were produced and how may t-tops and how many v8's. you could make an educated guess from the info, probably get in the ball park.there were over 2000 Mk6 in 1989 alone, so 2000 probably too low. thats just firebirds.

 

You'll never get in the ball park. The percentage you would use for the number of V8s of total production would be considerably different than the percentage of TTops built of the total production. Then add in the percentage of manuals, which changed requirements from year to year, and you'll have a number, but it will not be anywhere close to accurate or even in the ball park.

 

in 1990 every Formula, T/A, GTA came with a V8 and then he proceeds to list every color for T-top and every trans ordered. so that would give an exact number for those models. Firebirds not as easy because not all came with V8's
