I suppose you could consider the 1987 350 IROC-Z w/t-tops as top-of-the-line for 1987. It was the first year for the 350 at an additional cost of $1045, which made it the most costly single-item option available (other than option packages). Other than that, it wouldn't be considered "special". If you want to talk "special", talk about the 1987 "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" Camaro convertible (both Sport Coupes and Z28's). Now you're talking!!

Since there are some guys around here that will debate with you, until there blue in the face, that there was never a camaro with both a 350 and T-tops ... I would say its at least unusual.
Make sure its authentic, that car is 15 years old, and lots of things can happen to a car in that time. Look at the RPO sheet and check to make sure it has the CC1 "T-tops", and the B2L "350" options there, also check the VIn to make absolutely sure that it started life with a 350 (8th didget will be an 8)
hope that helps.

Well here's why I consider my 87 Iroc to be something nifty... First year for the L98, check...
Last year for the Norwood plant, check...
Borg Warner Rear, with 3.27 posi, check...
T-tops and 350, check...
Last year for early Iroc styling, check...
Only year with that styling and the L98...
Only year for B4Z, Z28, and L98 all in one car
Factory louvers, not really cool, but makes the car that much more unique...
So really there isn't anything that special about the car, but from the standpoint of going down the list of options and building the car exactly how I'd want it to be as unusual as possible, I consider my Iroc to be the perfect project. Nevermind the fact it needs a complete restoration. All the Iroc specific parts are in great shape, the rest of the car needs some work though.

Those are also the reasons I like them so much too.
