Not really, there were 100,899 of them.
84 was actually the year that the most Z28's were made during the Third Gen.

While not rare for 84 find a good condition one now adays. Chances are you wont because they are far and few between. If you have one in good shape keep it that way. I would consider it rare now. People tell me I'm crazy for spending the money on my 83 HO L69. (1 of 3233) They were rare in 83 what about now? When I am done it will be all original perfect 83 Z28 L69. I bought it for $400 how many of those do you think are around now? Same as your car! Good luck!!! I think it's rare enough

Put it into perspective... they built more L69 HO Z28's in 1984 then they did Iroc's in any one year...

If it means anything, I proudly own an '84 Z28 H.O. with the L69!
The one in my signature is the one and only Camaro I own. Even though I changed the hood and tail lights (daytona hood and IROC grid tails), I still have the original equipment.
Mine looks pretty on the inside and outside (interior is almost brand new and it's using seats from an '87 T/A).... But the engine compartment is looking rough and the engine needs a rebuild badly....
But it's mine and I'm proud of it, therefore I'm keepin' it!
