Red Center Console RPO?
I'm curious if anyone knows if there was a specific RPO/ or selection you could make to select the center console color. Most Red-on-Red Iroc's I've seen have the red center console along with red rear speaker covers. How many colors where there?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Red Center Console RPO?
There were no red consoles.... All were black... Someone got out a rattle can.... Which I have seen before.... Or aftermarket....
My red interior has a black console and dash like all the other third gens I have owned...
If someone can find info to the contrary, would love to see it....but there certainly isn't an RPO for one....

Not the top of the console, the shroud under the top is typically the same color as the door handles. Some have colored carpet on a 1SB to D rpo.
Re: Red Center Console RPO?
So the carpet on the side?.... Not all levels of trim got that. It was the same color as the floor carpet.
My 88 IROC has the base red interior and those did not get carpet on the side... Only deluxe and leather seats did. So that would be based on the interior level and the color. This was also true of the kick panels. It is not a separate option but a part of an interior package
You can buy that carpet from several vendors to replace it.
I was confused with my 88 at first since my 92 has the carpet on the sides... And leather seats .. then I figured it out through research why it wasn't installed...

The base level interior got an all-black console, simple as that. They had high-back bucket seats and vinyl upper door panels. The Custom Cloth interior got all the cushy stuff. Cloth upper door panels, seats with adjustable head rests, carpet on the console sides and carpet on the kick panels too.

Re: Red Center Console RPO?
Here's a 1SB with red carpeted console and red door handles. Super nice 89 1AZ that recently is up for sale.
Re: Red Center Console RPO?
There is a difference between door pulls and door handles.... The handles open the door... The pull is used to close the door.... And those did vary based on the interior color. In that photonthe door pull is red, the handle is black.
That pic shows a deluxe red interior.... So the center console has red carpet on it .. the console itself is black... But any car with an upgraded interior has the carpeted sections on the console and kick panels.
I think 95% of the confusion in this thread is the terminology being used.
