There was for the Firebird with the new front clip, which is why 1990 Firebird numbers dropped off significantly. I bought my first in February 1990 and did so because the '91s were already shipping and I much preferred the 1990 front end over the '91 version.

“Sorry, mom says I can’t play outside. I need to preserve my resale value.”
Kidding aside, it is sad. Makes me feel less guilty about dailying mine when there’s so many like this one that have barely been driven. My car gets 6 miles a day normally, can’t imagine 6 miles in almost 40 years.

The story says the guy bought the car new and then flatbed it to the basement where it was stored for over 30 years. The guy passed away and his niece sold the car to the new owner. So the original owner never got to drive this car OR enjoy the profits from the sale. I find that incredibly sad.

You never know..
The original owner could have gone down stairs to his car, had a beer and relaxed thinking he was going to, in the future, drive the car when he had time.
That car could have been his escape!!!
Worth every penny spent to him.

Re: 6 mile 1990 IROC 1LE camaro found
If it makes someone happy just to own a car like that and look at it sitting there in the garage, maybe it's worth it to them. Heck, it's not rare for me to go into my garage and just look at my cars.
But I could never have a car and not drive it. Even if it made some sort of financial resale value sense, the temptation would be too great. I've known more than a few people who buy their new cars based on projected resale value. To me, that's just a sad way to live. Rather than buying a car because you really like it, you buy a car hoping that someone else will really like it and will be willing to pay good money for in a few years.
