Things to look for?

I'm trying to gain more and more knowledge about 3rd gen Camaros to know exactly what model and features I'm looking for...Maybe someone can help me out.

Here's what I'd like - I'd like an Iroc-Z (86+) with a 305TPI and a 5 speed. The reason behind that is I'd like to add a T-56 to the car and I would like the car to be manual from the getgo. Also, In addition to the t-56, I would be installing a 350 and reusing the TPI setup.

What other features are especially looked for in an all out performance Iroc-Z? I've heard of 1LE and the AC delete, and things like that --- What else was offered and what should I look for in an Iroc-Z?

Thanks,

If your looking for a tpi 305 and a 5 speed iroc, your limited to 1987-1990. All 85-86 tpi were automatics. I think 1le cars are over priced, i'd rather have the options, pw, pl, ac, etc.

To get what you want, the easiest route would be to buy a 350 car and convert to the T56. Converting an automatic to a stick is a lot less work then swapping an engine, upgrading injectors, chip, and then redoing the entire T5 setup to work with the T56... There isn't any benefit to converting a T5 to a T56 other than having the holes already in the car.

To correct the above post you could get 5.0 TPI and 5spd from 87 through 92

Ahh, I stand corrected. I forgot they stopped IROC in 90.
