Nice car. For $60k you would think they would fix that sagging headliner.
Speedo looks aftermarket. Nice one though. Driver door looks maybe repainted.

Speedometer is not original. It's a period GM Performance part available in the catalog beginning in the '80s. If it was dealer installed when new then may be considered the original speedometer.
When my car had 74,000 miles several years ago I installed the same speedometer NOS. For a moment my car had 0.0 miles again.
At $60k they could have afforded better resolution.

I think that the cluster may have been changed. Not because of the speedometer. Yes, I remember that you go to the local Chevy dealer and buy the unit over the counter. If I remember correctly, it was rather pricey, about $150 plus. For a broke high school kid! But the tach is a yellow line at 5 grand. I was under the impression that the 305 (which this car came with) all got the tach with the yellow line at 4 and a half, and only the 350 cars got the 5 grand yellow line tach?

GM recommended shifting in the yellow under race conditions.

I'm not sure what it's worth, but I know it isn't worth $59,950.
Maybe 40k? 35k?
It's a shame no-one ever enjoyed it.

Where's the Car Fax?
...and why replace the tires in 2002 if the car isn't going to be driven.

Re: 288 MILE 1985 IROC-Z
Why are you asking for a Carfax? These older cars won't have a valid Carfax during the years when it would be most needed. Any Carfax on 80's cars will be recorded from early 2000's or 2010s to today. I see it often on bringatrailer.com. The early records are unavailable as Carfax wasn't tied into all insurance and service centers back then.

Oh, I was not aware of that Scott.
It would have helped with the milage claim, given the speedo and tires are not original.

Re: 288 MILE 1985 IROC-Z
The speedo change immediately brings the "288 miles" into question. The lack of close-up under hood pics as well as no under-car pics doesn't help the seller's case either. As far as the interior pics go, that car's interior is clean, but is no cleaner than mine, and I've got 37K on my car.
Not buying that mileage claim.

Re: 288 MILE 1985 IROC-Z
Only one tire, the driver front, is a proven replacement because it's a ZR. The other three are VR like the car should have and could be original.
Interior is super clean. Under the hood looks less cared for.
But the non-original speedo definitely brings the mileage into question, especially without proof of an installation date.
