Does anyone remember this car or possibly know what happened to it? I’m sure this is a question that might have been answered like 20 years ago, Hotrod did an article on this car back in 87 called the Triple Threat, this thing clocked like 216 mph back in I think 88-89, the car was sold and the original owner tried to buy it back but the new owner wouldn’t let it go for less than 75k and this was probably early 90’s.

 

I recall reading about that car in Hot Rod magazine back in 1987; that article drew a lot of interest at the time. It had a KB big-block engine and extensive drivetrain and suspension modifications. IIRC, there wasn't much left of the original 3rd gen except the body.

That was a long time ago; no clue what happened to that car, or if it even still exists.

 

I want to say it poped up on FB a few years back

 

Was it for sale or just someone posting it? Cool piece of history though, it was impressive for its time.

 

Think it was someone saying they knew the current owner? Bit fuzzy on details, getting old and see sooo much stuff
