Shop recommendations in DFW area
Thanks to Scott from Austin, I now have a great project on my hands. About 2 yrs ago, my pride and joy (86 Black IROC, Red Interior) was totaled one night in a parking lot. From the time it left the dealer to the night it got totaled, I had put all but maybe a hundred miles or so on that car.
This last weekend I went down to Austin and bought Scott's 85 IROC to begin the process of getting myself back into a 3rd Gen. My problem is that I travel every week. I fly out Sunday evening and fly home late Thursday night. With a wife and two small kids, I know I'm not going to have the time to personally do all the work I'd like to do.
That's why I'm turning to the guys here to get some recommendations on some local shops that could do some of the work I'll probably need done. As of now, I know I'll need someone to track down a computer/sensor/??? problem that seems to be bogging down the engine. Any suggestions? I'm in the mid-cities area of the Metroplex.

I know of one place that a buddy of mine owns. The name is Total Automotive, the phone number is 214-398-2929. He knows his stuff, as do all his mechanics. The shop is on the East side of Dallas on 175. Give him a call.

I used Rick's car care on Irving BLVD in Irving. I know it's not mid cities, but I was absolutely impressed on both the quality of thier work and their follow up. (These guys called me a week later to ask what I thought of their work and how the car was running!) Really, they're somewhat pricey, but will treat you right. Try asking Greg1LE. He's from Arlington and has lived here much longer than me. He's the webmaster of www.1LE.org
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll hang on to this. I'm towing my car out to W. Texas in a little over a week to get some of the body work done as well as get a quick look at the engine. Depending on what kind of shape it's in when I get it back, I may take it to Arlington.
