Gears

Hey whats up I got a 92 camaro rs t-tops about a month ago and i need to know what the gears r on them. It has a 305 v8. I have been told it might have 3:73 but i dont think so. If not what would be the best gearing for drag racing.

if you have the rpo codes you can quickly look up the gears on the decoder.
As a quick reference identifier, if it has drum brakes, the gears usually suck, like 2.73 or 3.08's
Disc brake cars tend to have the better gears, though not all of them. My 86 T/A disc brake rear, has 2.77's in it. alos if it has a posi tag, there is a better chance of good gears, but not always.
3.42 gears are a compromise between gas milage and racing, but 3.73's will yeild quicker et's, provided YOU can get your car to hook!
Be cool!
