Digital Dash Q's
Digital Dash Q's
Just a few questions about digital dashes in thirdgens.
1. The Bertilinetta dash was completely different from GTA digital dashes right?
2. Were there any differences in digital dashes in GTA's. i.e. different years had different features?
3. Do digital dashes use the same connectors as a regular dash, i.e. plug in?
4. Are there any similarities between corvette digital dashes and GTA and or Bertilinetta dashes?
5. Are all digital dashes electric spedo?
6. Were digital dashes available in 91-92 GTA's?
7. Are there any recorded numbers of digtital dash production along year lines?
If anyone has picture or illustrations please post I think this is something many people would like to know about, but don't know how to ask. I for one have NEVER seen a digital dash but I think from the pictures I have seen that they rock. Thank you for any help you can provide.

4)the electronics are probably similar, but the appearance is compeletly different
5) yes there all electronic.
6) I believe 88 was the last year for the digital dash on firebird, and 86 was the last year for the berl, becauase th berl was cancelled.
7) I think I have seen some, but do not know what they are...

You could try searching, pics have been posted of them before. Try asking on the nethirdgen.org board, there are a couple members that have digital dashes in their firebirds.
The digital dashes weren't really uncommon, and even if the plugs are the same the wiring is different. Take a look at a digital dash bird sometime and you'll see obvious sensors that normal thirdgens don't have. In the case of the berlinetta the majority of the wiring and electrical parts are unique.

I had one in my GTA. They suck. Can't even read them if the sun is shining. No the connections are not the same. It is a lot of work to convert from one to the other. I wanted analog for mine and it was too much work.
