WTB Stock radio for 88 GTA with wheel contols
I have decided to build the 88 GTA I have had for a while. It has the radio controls in the steering wheel. BUT the stock radio is long gone. If someone has a stock radio for my 88 gta with wheel controls let me know price and shipping to 29477 sc.. THANKS

Hi,
I have a stock 1987 radio, but in 1987 GTAs didn't have steering wheel controls. They had them from 88 to 89, in 1990 they started with the airbag wheels.
Your steering wheel should be a three spoke wheel with a gold/black GTA cloisonne emblem on the horn button.
Just saying, the 87 GTA radio looks almost like the 88, but you couldn't use your steering wheel controls. If you want to convert an 87 to steering wheel controls THAT WORK, best is to find an 88 or 89 column, careful as they also had VATS which your 87 doesn't have... Also the radio connectors changed for 88... so that's a bigger job than you thought I guess.
Find out what your 87 has, maybe somebody already swapped an 88 column in there? Let me know, I have pretty much all you need, but shipping for bigger parts would be a pain.

well.... I just figured it was right for the car... looks like i just have the wrong wheel.... wonder if I could sell this wheel for enough to fund a correct wheel.

crap, I just dug through about 400 titles and found the title to the GTA... it IS a 88 not a 87... I dunno why I was thinkin 87.. SO if anyone has a stock radio for 88 GTA with steering wheel controls... AND the wiring pig tails for the radio. let me know a price shipped to 29477 sc thanks!
