Hello, I am a new member and I am the proud owner of a 1986 Chevy IROC-Z28 Camaro as of Friday.

I am looking for a headliner for a t top car preferably red or possibly something else. Let me know what you have.

By the way I'm only 19 and I spent basically everything buying this car haha. I'm not looking for a hand out by any means but I don't have a whole lot to spend. Let me know if you can help me out.

Headliners are getting pretty rare in good to perfect condition for people with little to spend. Been there done that. Questions to you first. Have you removed the headliner assembly? If so, in what condition is the fiber structure in? If good or repairable back to stable condition, go to Hancock fabrics to get the replacement material AND the adhesive, USE NO OTHER adhesive! Clean off all the old dried adhesive and foam from the structure with a PLASTIC brush. Buy some spring type folder clips from the office section at Walmart. You will need them. Turn the structure upside down, lay the new fabric over it, smooth it out. Cut the new fabric at least 2 inches longer on all sides.

Now is where you WILL need a helper (Preferably blonde 105 lbs. very cute wearing a bikini) And patience. On another table place the cut fabric with the foam side up. Spray the foam side and the structure PURCHASED from Hancock Fabrics. FOLLOW the instructions on the can! After the adhesive sets, You and your cute helper will turn the fabric over and place it on the structure like an upside down bag, letting the absolute middle contact first, in alignment, smooth it out, reapply adhesive on the edges and clip it every 4 inches all the way around. If you have any paint stir sticks to put between the clips and fabric, that is recommended so as not to crush the fabric. Patience again. Let it dry 24 hour before reassembly in the car. If you broke any of the retainer clips in removing the structure (which you probably will) Velcro works wonders. Good Luck!

 

It's just metal on top. No existing headliner. I didn't remove it either. The previous owner had a newer interior installed but did not install a headliner.

Also the driver side seat belt doesn't work very well. Any recomendations with that?

 

I'd say is't time to go to the boneyard. You may still find some parts left.
