Ok hate to hijack this thread and sound stupid, so the 1989-1992's had the fog light wiring part of the complete lighting harness? I was confused when I installed mine years back. Some guy told me that harness was 1985-1986. Just curious and btw, nice car.

I'm not sure what the exact difference is. I just know from looking at diagrams it's different. I know later ones had a lighted fog switch. My car didnt come with fog lights but has the connections where a factory fog harness plugs into the rest of the harness.

Because I'd rather have the stock setup and plug and play to my existing connections in the harness for it. I have a universal one now but want the factory high beam fog cut off.

ahhh that makes sense!
personally i dont like the factory high beam fog light cut off, im not sure if this is how my car is supposed to be but iv owned several third gens maybe you can give me a solid answer.
On my 85 z28 when i throw the high beams on the lows stay on, but on my 88, 90, and 91 the lows turn off when highs are on, somethings not right huh? im guesing its either normal or the multi function switch is bad?

All four are supposed to stay on. Most low beam lights have a dual filament that switches how it does the light for high and low. Its possible that filament burned out on the high setting so it just turned it off or high beams lights were used in the low spot instead of low beams and that would turn it off when high was clicked I believe.

makes sense, was the answer i was hoping for since i like the look of all 4 on when the highs are on, i just picked up the switch and bezel today but i dont really NEEED it, and i know of another one, i could send you one if you dont have much luck findning one, it has the switch with the light i heard some didnt, its from an 86 or 87 iroc, i cut the plug off the harness figuring it wasnt a seperate harness, kinda wished id looked more closely now....

only 4 if memory serves right, maybe 5 but i dont think so, ill get it outa my car tomorow and check for you, its pretty simple how gm wired it using a relay, same way the after market harness are you can buy but idk how u would get the high beam cut out to work without the factory one, like i said i was at a local junkyard, it was about 23 degrees and snowing its *** off i just wanted to get my cluster, the fog light thing and some other misc parts and get back in my nice warm z24

Kyle87, not something I have in my stash as the moment. If I come across one, I'll message you. Whenever I get them, and they're uncut, they go incredibly quickly.
