drew if you don't mind doing one thing I may be able to pay more if it works. what's the minimum resistance and what the max? I am looking to try and hook this to an aftermarket system as a trial piece im only willing to spend like 10 bucks if I know it will work I'm willing to pay more.

 

If you can find a GM diagram showing which pins on the switch you want tested, I can test it for you. I sold the only service manual I had that referenced that system. Without a diagram it's pretty much just a shot in the dark since there's an on/off switch, backlighting, power indicator lighting, and the potentiometer.
