Steering column

Hey everyone . I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a steering column for my 92 Z28 5.7. Someone in the past tried to steal the car and messed up the steering column . Now the Vat system has been bypassed by soldering in a resistor to the Vat system and the air bag is gone and also I was wondering if an earlier model Camaro steering column could work.

Re: Steering column

I just found one in a 92 Firebird for my 90 at Pick and pull without bag or key was a whopping 43$ plus tax wasn't that bad to pull but bring torx bits and sockets I was lucky was put out on lot 2 days earlier only thing i cut was the cable to shifter
Earlier columns will work but nut sure how electronics will react without the bag hooked up find a car and take it out yourself took maybe 30-45 minutes

Re: Steering column

There;s a place called pull a part here in town but they didn't have anything. But I think I just got lucky there's a guy on ebay I have been talking to who has a 91 Camaro steering column he just redid so I ordered it . On my Camaro the air bag is gone some one put in a aftermarket steering wheel and they bypassed the Vat system by soldering in a resistor to the Vat system . That's why with that being done I thought a earlier model steering column might work.
