Help w/ new steering column, can't get shaft to slip on to the column..
I have a 91z28 and just put in a new steering column from another 90-92 camaro, all of these should be pretty much identical from what I know but I can't get the steering shaft to slip onto the shaft that comes out of the column. It's like it's not long enoough or something.. Any idea's??

aaahh! still going at it.. I disconnected the shaft from the steering box side and the thing still will not slide on, its such a tight fit.. I even greased up the shaft in hopes itll slip back in.. Is this something thats supposed to be done outside the car? I really dont wanna have to pull the whole column back out..

there is a good chance the INFL REST light is from the coil under the steering wheel being damaged. i forget the exact name of it for it right now. but odds are the steering wheel was turned too far in one direction or the other.
