[QUOTE=a mack6;2983659]My white RS had an immaculate interior (it only had 45k miles). Never seen one as clean.

My new camaro also has an amazing interior (only 28k miles). Wont really find em much cleaner than these two....

The center console lid being ripped kind of takes away from the Mint aspect of it.

[QUOTE=Jim 86 IROC;3047161]Hi 1990GTA,

Looking at the pics of your very clean GTA on the Interior I believe I see cup holders on the lower front of each door???

The reason for my interest is that I bought a set of used cup holders from
a TA/GTA to install into my "new" '88 IROC-Z that look very similar.

If I'm right on this, I have a copla questions:
-do they sit flush with door inner panel?
-do you have any problems with kicking them on entry/exit; how about
passengers?
-do you find them convenient for holding a drink?

They do sit flush, I dont think I have ever kicked mine getting in or out and the cup holder is in the perfect spot. Like if you are driving at night when you cant see it, just reach down there and chances are it will end up in the holder.

Wow those are some incredible interiors.Mine is clean but far from mint.I upgraded to '92 Firebird seats(thank you to another member)mainly because my driver's seat was an oddball.I still have to get the correct seat side trim for the power seat switch(I modified the old one). The '92 tan color is very close to the '83 doeskin and even the material pattern is a close match to the door panels.

One question I asked on another forum is has anyone seen a late '83 with the overhead console(I'm thinking along the lines of the late intro of the L69 that wasn't in the dealer brochures). The build date on mine is the 3rd week of June and she had the console mounts but no console.I've since found a nice console to her.

Thanks for the reply 1990GTA, I'm about to replace the pwr window motors and do the outer glass weather strip so it would be a great time to also install those GTA cup holders if I'm gonna go that route.

I got a little sidetracked after taking the '88 IROC into Midas for a simple stock exhaust fix. In the process of installing two missing RH exhaust manifold studs they, in 4hrs of effort, created a major leak in the LH side; I then took her to Mufflex and let the experts get her sealed up in ~20min.

My interior is extremely clean for 68k miles; will get some pics to post here with all these other great interiors.

Have any of you guys had your seats re-upholstered? If so, was it rather expensive, or fairly priced? And did it match well? I have red interior, and my back seat is faded on the top. I want to keep the red interior because I personally haven't seen too many 'birds with red interior where I live. The rest of my interior is in pretty damn good shape, no cig burns, rips, or stains.

I like leather seats, but on REALLY hot summer days (which was almost every day this summer) leather seats can be scorching hot. And if you're wearing shorts, you legs get stuck to the seats and it feels like you're leaving part of your legs behind when you get out. If it wasn't for that I'd do it. Another reason I'm stickin with cloth is because it's cheaper. I'm a broke @$$ right now haha.

Mine is probably about as mint as it gets for a daily driver. I just got my new door panels put on yesterday so I don't have any pictures yet.

Here's mine. It's probably 99.95% mint. My only deficiencies would be the ugly red floormats (ditched since), the drivers window switch has label wear (soon to replace) and the usual wear on the pedals (mostly surface dust). Other than that, so far so good. There's a few glare spot on the dirty camera lens. The stereo is reversible (have original everything).

no, i just cannot afford a full tan leather interior conversion right now. it would cost around 1-2k dollars. i can get my stock seats recovered in red leather which looks better than red cloth. that will keep me satisfied untill i ever get the money to do an interior conversion

Wow wayfast84. I've never seen white interior. Looks good, must be a pain to keep clean though.
