Mint Interiors...?
Anyone have an absolutely mint interior? Semms like interior tend to be overlooked for the exterior and performance sometimes....

My white RS had an immaculate interior (it only had 45k miles). Never seen one as clean.
My new camaro also has an amazing interior (only 28k miles). Wont really find em much cleaner than these two....

Here's mine after some new carpet and upholstery. Not completely mint, but far from raggedy (I think anyway). There are more pics here: Yahoo! Photos - jimmyj1423's Photos - 1991 RS

wow those are pretty mint(or very clean!). That's just what I was looking for.
I love the layout of the interiors in thirdgens. The air vent placement, the agressive dash, all very nice.

My '92 is as close to mint as a 115,000 25th can get. Plus I have thirdgen leather, not 4th. Nocracks in the dash, not rips or tears in the seat and the carpet and headliner are mint. I don't baby this car, I just keep it up.

My '86 is pretty decent too. One more repair and it will be mint too. Not bad for 260,000 on the odometer.

I should be getting my rear leather seats resurfaced in a little bit, I will post pictures then. Other than the rear seats and a SMALL (about a half inch long) scratch in the driver seat, my interior is mint. No dash cracks, all guages function properly, all a/c vents are intact, carpet is new, the floor mats need a good shampooing but that isn't anything major.

Heres mine, I've done some work to it since this pic. I installed a B&M Megashifter and nicer floormats. Factory color was grey, but it was trashed when I bought the car.

Thos pics sorta make me wish I still had my doeskin interior. I converted it to what you see above, and in this post! Here's another pic of the interior on my 83 Z/28. That auto shift plate is about to dissapear, I've got a 6-speed on the way!

Ok so it's gonna be a few weeks before the rear seats are resurfaced and the driver seat side bolster is fixed. So this is what I've got so far

Hi 1990GTA,
Looking at the pics of your very clean GTA on the Interior I believe I see cup holders on the lower front of each door???
The reason for my interest is that I bought a set of used cup holders from
a TA/GTA to install into my "new" '88 IROC-Z that look very similar.
If I'm right on this, I have a copla questions:
-do they sit flush with door inner panel?
-do you have any problems with kicking them on entry/exit; how about
passengers?
-do you find them convenient for holding a drink?
Thanks for any info.

Here is one for now, i really need to take some new ones. the camera made the paint look orange though. I forgot to take off the cheapo steering wheel cover for the pic.

Bought it like this. Changing it as soon as I fix the mechanical issues.
Yes they sit flush with the door panel
I used to kick mine 95% of the time getting out of the car, So when I redid my door panels, I left them off.
The cup holder part itself is rather large, and most regular size drinks slide around in them, the map pocket part makes for a nice CD case holder though.

mnformula350, thanks for the feedback.
I've been debating on just where to position them and indeed thought the holders were a tad "large" too.
Plus I've been debating on whether I wanted to cut three holes in my stock door panel carpet to get the holders to flush mount solidly against the metal door.

It was pretty much a direct swap, other than having torewire the hiorn wires form 2 buttons like the stock one had, to the single with of the 3 spoke wheel.
Oh and of course I removed all 3 air bag sensors, and pulled the bulb in the cluster for the light, So the car looks like it never came with an airbag.
here are more pics of my MINT interior. anything that looks like a stain in the pics are just shadows, guarenteed

those 2 dots on the passenger seat are not a stain either
thats for all you red interior haters out there, there's plenty of you

any comments on the red interior?
How do you think it would look with say red carpet, etc and black seats or visa versa??
im not sure but ive always thought about that. i could go with black floormats too. supposedly someone here on TGO has done it but ive never seen pics. im thinking about getting my seats recovered in red leather though

I have a 35th Anniversary Vette; the interior motif is:
black-carpet, trim, matts
white-leather seats, upper door panels, wheel, console lid, seat belts
I was toying with that sort of 2-tone thing for the IROC but haven't sorted it all out yet.
I recently picked up a very clean maroon IROC with tan interior. To brighten up the interior I've added embroidered maroon matts.
